Jamie Gooch, a mother from Texas, gained notoriety after advising parents against letting their kids watch “Hocus Pocus 2,” which debuted on Disney+ on September 30, 2022. Parents have been forewarned by a mother that watching Hocus Pocus 2 would cause wicked spells to be cast in their houses and perhaps possibly unlock “the gates of hell.”
Jamie Gooch of Troy is urging parents to take caution before allowing their kids to see the much anticipated Disney+ installment of the iconic 1993 Halloween film, arguing that exposing kids to fictitious witches will have no beneficial effects.
About Hocus Pocus 2
The plot picks up nearly 30 years after Max mistakenly revived three witches who were on the prowl to kidnap children in the 1993 film adaptation by lighting the Black Flame Candle. As they awaken in the present day in the sequel, Winifred, Sarah, and Mary now seek retribution. Three Salem witches known as the Sanderson Sisters are portrayed in the film, a follow-up to the 1993 cult hit, by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy.
Becca, Cassie, and Izzy, three teenagers, must figure out how to prevent the witches from exacting revenge. Three young women accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
“Hocus Pocus 2” broke a record for being the most watched original movie on Disney+ in its first three days of availability, according to a statement from Disney. Many spoofs of Gooch’s popular interview have surfaced on social media, including one by comedian Blaire Erskine that has amassed 2.7 million Twitter impressions and counting.
Woman’s Views About Hocus Pocus 2
In an interview, mother of three said,
“A worst case scenario is: you unleash hell on your kids and in your home,” Gooch said. “The whole movie is based on witches harvesting children for blood sacrifices.”
“Everybody thinks it’s fake and innocent, but they could be casting any type of spell that they want to, anything could be coming through that TV screen into your home. It grieves me, the thought of exposing our kids to darkness.”
Jamie Gooch said that she and her family haven’t celebrated Halloween in roughly four or five years because she finds it painful to “Expose her kids to darkness.” The advice from Gooch goes beyond only “Hocus Pocus 2,” as she believes that all parents should be aware of the material their kids are seeing.
Jamie Gooch also mentioned,
“I think it goes further than just a movie, it goes further than Halloween, it’s a year-round thing, we constantly need to be cautious of what we’re consuming, what we’re bringing in and what we’re sending out,”
Jamie Gooch said.
“I believe whatever comes in our TV screens: there are things attached to that, I’ve seen for myself the things that I’ve watched with my eyes or heard over a TV screen, they’ve become manifested in real life, and then I think ‘oh my gosh, what did I consume?’”
Do not watch this movie, she said, which sees three witches from the 17th century unintentionally transported to Salem in the present.
“I hope I make a difference, but even if it’s in one person’s life . . . that’s all that matters,” she said. “It doesn’t have to be transforming Hollywood, I don’t have to make a huge impact, just a small one, and I’d be happy and satisfied.”
Jamie Gooch said,
“I think at the end of the day, I want people to walk away with ditscernment. Just start thinking, start thinking for yourself and even overthink, and consider all the options of what you’re partaking in.”
