The Undertaker faced Goldberg in one of the worst matches that WWE has put together in a long time at WWE Super ShowDown. However, the deadman did not go back to his usual hibernation – he returned soon on Raw and helped Roman Reigns fend off against Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.

While no reason has been specified so far, info from various dirtsheets reveal that ‘Taker wanted to face off Drew McIntyre once before he retired and hence this match was booked at Extreme Rules. However, interestingly, the deadman’s return was planned even before his match with Goldberg!
The Undertaker’s Return Was Planned a Month in Advance!
The deadman had planned his return because he did not want to retire as a shadow of his former self. He has been training hard and is looking forward to one last proper run before he walks off into the sunset. Given how bad his match with Goldberg was, this does make a lot of sense!

Furthermore, ‘Taker had shown quite some interest in working younger talent such as Drew McIntyre.
WWE Extreme Rules: Who Will Win The Match?
It will be interesting to see how the unlikely allies Roman Reigns and The Undertaker function as a tag team. It has been long since the deadman has tagged with anyone else other than his half-brother Kane and the dynamic between the two will be interesting. The team of The Undertaker and Roman Reigns is almost guaranteed to win this one!
