Yellowstone is a popular TV show that led to a popular franchise because of its wide-open skies, lots of lands, and constant drama. The “Yellowstone” franchise, which has been a huge hit for Paramount, has been following the Dutton family through several generations. However, it looks like the main show is going through some growing pains. It looks like a direct sequel to “Yellowstone” is already in the works, and there has been a lot of talk that Matthew McConaughey will play a big part in this new project.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the second “Yellowstone” movie is set to come out in December if the writers’ strike doesn’t last too long. Even though Season 5 of the series hasn’t even started airing or filming yet, this is a very quick turnaround. Some people may wonder why the series is changing so quickly and dramatically. Reports of problems with Kevin Costner and the production of the popular show may be the best way to explain the change. Needless to say, it doesn’t look like Paramount and the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, will wait long to start the next episode of “Yellowstone.”
The studio president is confident in the Yellowstone sequel.
Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said in an official statement about this latest news,
Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits — from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King,’ and I am confident our ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life.
Even though we don’t know much about the plot of the possible “Yellowstone” sequel right now, we can figure out some things just from the fact that it’s being thought of as a sequel. This is not a prequel like “1883” or “1923,” so it’s likely that it will take place after whatever happens at the end of “Yellowstone.”
The biggest question is whether or not this “Yellowstone” sequel will follow a member of the Dutton family, and if it does, where, if the rumors are true, does Matthew McConaughey fit in? No matter what happens, the franchise seems to be moving forward at full speed.
