Zachary Levi wrote a post that was shared on Instagram about the death of his father, Darrell Pugh. He wrote a touching message and called it “Papa D.” and put it in the post.
Even though Zachary Levi’s fans criticized him on Twitter for supporting the anti-vaccine movement just a few days after he said his father had died, he didn’t say that his father had died until after he had already answered the criticism.
His father kept fighting until the end.
Zachary Levi says that his father died after a long fight with thyroid cancer. But the actor says that his father is at peace now that he has died because he is no longer stuck in a body that is getting worse. Instead, he says that his father is singing karaoke in heaven.
Zachary is grateful to everyone who has helped him.
With tears in his eyes, the actor said that the “love” and “prayers” sent to his father had made him have more faith in people.
Please know that our entire family, including him, felt and appreciated everything.
The Value Of Family
Sending you all limitless love and light straight back,
Zachary concluded.
The actor also wrote a comment on the photo itself, in which he talked about how important family is.
Zachary’s Message To The World.
Hug those you love. Hug ‘em tight. Talk about everything you need to talk about. Say all the things. And when the time comes, release them to journey back to where it all began. Back to paradise. A place we’ll all be so lucky to return to some day. ❤️🙏
He captioned the post.
Getting Support From Friends
People inside and outside of the entertainment business who worked with the actor had a lot of good things to say about him.
Mandy Moore wrote the following in the comments:
Sending you and your family all my love, Zac.
Lucy Liu added:
Holding you so tightly friend ❤️
He asked people to pray for his father, who is no more.
About two weeks before the bad news came out on Sunday, the actor posted on Twitter, asking for prayers for his cancer-stricken father and for help fighting the disease.
Levi had released a video of him before, in late November, just a few days before his sick father was going to have surgery.
But for anyone out there that feels like rollin up some spiritual sleeves and prayin, send some up for my pops. Pray that he be as comfy and at peace as a man could get. And that he head home with no fear or regrets, knowing how loved he is. 🥰🙏

A 42-year-old actor started the controversy when he quoted a post from an account that was against vaccines and said that Pfizer was “a serious threat to the planet.”
“Hardcore Agree”
Levi’s new movie, based on DC Comics, is coming out on March 17. In response to a retweet of one of his tweets, he wrote the following:

Zachary’s point of view might have a big impact on Warner Bros.
Even though Levi was just expressing his own opinions, he is now associated with the Warner Bros. brand, and his latest action may be the start of yet another PR battle for the movie and TV production company.
The sequel to “Shazam” is set to come out in theaters in March.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to Shazam! will come out in theaters in March.
Zachary gets a lot of bad feedback on the Internet.
Others praised the actor for being brave, while some Twitter users said they wouldn’t see the Shazam movie because of him.
Keeping A Low Profile
Zachary has been quiet on social media since the tweet that went viral, which is understandable since he is going through a time of grief.
May His Soul Rest In Peace
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family for the loss of their loved one, Darren Pugh.
