The new volume of the Boruto manga series has only 2 episodes so far, so maybe the creators are waiting for more episodes to drop so they can animate the series without having to take breaks waiting for the manga to move ahead. Currently, the manga is getting one chapter a month of updates, and it will take a few months for the manga to be ahead of the anime.
This has not stopped the animators before, and there were many filler arcs in the Boruto anime while waiting for the manga, and this makes fans wonder: how long will it be before the time skip is animated? If they start the Boruto anime series, then it will not take long to catch up to the manga. Maybe the anime might begin with a few filler episodes before moving on to the source material. Only time will tell. Meanwhile, fans can read the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
