The Minnesota Timberwolves’ center and forward, Karl Anthony Towns, might get traded to the New York Knicks this summer. The Timberwolves have not performed the way they would have expected. Even though they tried to fix the shortcomings of their star, Karl by signing Rudy Gobert, things did not change for the better.
The Kentucky Wildcats product managed to play only 29 games for the Timberwolves last season and averaged 20.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting 36.6 percent 3-pointers. It is not what the Timberwolves want to see from their franchise’s star. The Knicks have shown interest in him. Will Karl get traded? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New York Knicks involving Karl Anthony Towns.
What would the Knicks offer for Karl Anthony Towns?
The Knicks are expected to offer RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and one first-round pick each from the years 2028 and 2030 in exchange for the 27-year-old center. It took time, but the Timberwolves have probably realized that Karl is not the player who can change their fate, and they might trade him now.

Why would the Timberwolves trade-off Karl Anthony Towns?
Karl had some defensive issues. He had difficulties with guarding the interior and the perimeter. To overcome this, the Timberwolves acquired Rudy Gobert, but the duo did not work out. When a duo does not give results, generally, the player with more market value gets traded, and that is exactly what the Timberwolves are doing here. They are getting two players and two draft picks in exchange, and they would probably be happy doing that. Barrett’s addition might ignite things for them.
