The Minnesota Timberwolves’ Karl Anthony Towns might play for the Pelicans in the upcoming season. Rudy Gobert was signed by the Timberwolves to cover up for Karl but injuries rarely allowed the two of them to step on the court together. Since the duo has not been up to the mark, one of them might leave. Rudy would not give them hefty returns as of now, but Karl might, and the Timberwolves are planning on getting that.
Karl played a total of 29 games for the Timberwolves last season and averaged 20.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game. The Timberwolves management could not find peace with that, but the Pelicans would be happy with Karl. They are building an offensive squad but the injuries have pushed them to look for a defensive big man. Can they land Karl this summer? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans involving Karl Anthony Towns.
What would the Pelicans offer for Karl Anthony Towns?
The Pelicans are expected to offer CJ McCollum and a first-round pick each from the years 2024 and 2025 in exchange for Karl Anthony Towns. The Rudy and Karl combination did not work out for the Timberwolves, and it affected Anthony Edwards as well. A change in the roster is imminent.

Why would the Timberwolves let Karl Anthony Towns go?
Getting 2 draft picks along with a decent player in return for a guy who has failed to stand up to the expectations looks like a good deal. The Timberwolves would be happy to part ways with Karl if the offer is made. McCollum is good at spacing the floor and creating his own shot. His presence would allow the Timberwolves to strengthen the defense as well.
